“Rock the Boat!”

Webmaster’s Note: Skip told me a bit about the story behind this beautiful sailboat. While I know he loves sailboats, it is extra appropriate that he just “won” this auction since he will be boarding a flight on Thursday to go to Antigua to attend the 50th anniversary of Sailing Week there.  This is a long overdue trip and I am so happy he is going with his beautiful daughter, Jodie! Can’t wait to hear all the stories when he gets back. I am guessing he may pick up a new sailboat crystal piece or two when he is there. 🙂

“I definitely was happy to win the Sailboat!! (smile)  I couldn’t believe that nobody else bid on it.  It’s  16 inches tall and 10 ½ inches long, and The Seller wanted a starting bid of $75.00 and the boat stayed on Ebay for weeks with no bidders.  Then she (the Seller) posted a “buy it now”  price of $60.00….still no bidders.

 The auction deadline was 5 minutes from ending, and I didn’t know if the Seller would just give up and remove the piece for good….the starting bid was knocked all the way down to $49.99….so-o-o-o with 4 ½ minutes left I bid $50.00…..AND I WON!! (ha,ha,ha,ha)”
